'Saguni' sees villain change - Pushed to May / June?

Karthi's political satire 'Saguni' that was initially slated for a Tamil New Years release will now, if sources are to be believed, see light of the day towards the fag end of May or early June.

This is because most of the scenes of 'Saguni' are being shot again! Buzz is that the producers watched the double positive of 'Saguni' and weren't satisfied with the scenes featuring the baddie, Salim Ghouse!

The film has a few villains and Salim Ghouse plays the main antagonist and apparently there are scenes featuring him and Karthi that aren't up to the mark and the producers want a re-shoot.

He is now replaced by South Indian cinema's favorite villain, Prakash Raj who is reportedly paid a huge amount for allotting a ten-day schedule for the film.

This movie by Dream Warriors is directed by debutant Shankar Dayal and is a high voltage action entertainer with Praneetha as the female lead. Scenes featuring Karthi and Santhanam are one of the major highlights of the film.

Billa 2 release date!

Billa 2 directed by Chakri Toleti and starring Ajith will be releasing on May 25th. Yuvan Shankar Raja is almost done with the music so the audio launch will also be held soon.

Sreekar Prasad is doing the editing. Costumes are by Nithya and Rafi. Cinematography is by PS Vinod. Billa 2 is one of the biggest releases this year.

Rajnikanth announces that Kochadaiyaan will hit the screens on Deepavali day

There were news that Rajni will be leaving for London to participate in the shooting of Kochadaiyaan but the date was not announced. Rajni has also sung one song for Kochadaiyaan.

Rajni left for London by British Airways flight on 17th March at 4 A M to participate in the shooting of Kochadaiyaan.

Director Soundarya, K S Ravikumar and crew of 20 members accompanied Rajnikanth to London. A big star cast consisting of Deepika Padukone, Sarathkumar, Nasar, Jackie Shroff, Aadhi and Ramesh Khanna will be sharing the screen with the super star.The shooting of this film is to take place in magnificent studios and other places in London. The shooting of Kochadaiyaan which will commence on 21st March will go up to 6th April.
Rajni while leaving Chennai spoke to the media people. He said, "The film Kochadaiyaan will be released on Deepavali day. The first schedule of shooting of some sequences and song sequences will be shot in London. About 40% of the shooting will take place in London. After this the shooting will take place in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. You can see an energetic Rajni in Kochadaiyaan than before."

Rajni after completing the shooting will return to Chennai on 7th April.

Sony acquires the audio rights of Billa 2

There will always be lots of expectations when a film which has Ajith in the lead role is being released. There are lots of expectations for Billa 2 which is a sequel to Billa.

The production house has not released the stills of this film. The film which has Ajith, Parvathy Omanakuttan and others in the cast has been directed by Chakri Toleti. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music.

There was a tough completion among various audio companies to acquire the audio rights of Billa 2 but somehow Sony Company has acquired the audio rights at a very high price. It is understood, that for the first time an audio right of an Ajith film is being sold for such a high price. There is also a promo song along with the other songs in the audio CD. The audio CD of Billa 2 is to be released during the last week of March or during the first week of April. The film is expected to hit the screens on 27th April.

Karthi’s Alex Pandian in Meenambakkam

Alex Pandian is the latest film of Karthi post Saguni, Suraaj is donning the directors cap for this movie presently rolling in Meenambakkam.

Karthi is donning the lead role in Alex Pandian that casts Anushka in the female lead, while Santhanam, Nikhita and Sanusha will be seen in the pivotal roles. Alex Pandian also casts top model Milind Sonam of Pacchaikili Muthucharam fame and Superstar Rajinikanth’s Shivaji baddie Suman as main villains.

K.E.Gnanavel Raja will be producing Alex Pandian under his Studio Green Films that has music being scored by Devi Sri Prasad. Karthi, who is waiting to watch Praneetha debuting Saguni on big screens, is shooting for his forthcoming Alex Pandian in Meenambakkam village.

Suriya unveils 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' music

The audio and trailer launch ceremony of 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi' was a star-studded affair with the presence of several tinsel town stars. The music and trailer was unveiled on March 6 at a city multiplex.

Suriya Sivakumar who has acted in Udhayanidhi Stalin's production ventures like '7aum Arivu' and 'Aadhavan' unveiled the music along with music composer Harris Jayaraj.

Also present at the event were brother Karthi Sivakumar, Jiiva, Jayam Ravi, Vishnu, VTV Ganesh, Sibiraj, Saranya Ponvannan, KS Ravikumar, Vetrimaaran, Mysskin, Kannan, Dharani, Perarasu, Radha Mohan, Elred Kumar and Jayendra.

The highlight of the event was Santhanam's speech that had the audience in splits and two songs screening along with a new theatrical trailer.

'OKOK' marks the debut of Udhayanidhi in Tamil cinema as an actor. The film will be a laugh riot in the lines of 'Siva Manasula Shakti' and 'Boss Engira Baskaran', director Rajesh's earlier offerings. The film has Rajesh's lucky mascot Arya, Andrea and Sneha in cameos

Rajinikanth to work with KV Anand?

Even before Superstar Rajinikanth's magnum opus 'Kochadaiyaan' has gone on floors, rumors are rife that the matinee idol will join hands with director KV Anand for a film post this 3D entertainer!

Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that the Superstar has zeroed on his next post this period entertainer and that he will be joining hands with director KV Anand for a never seen before sort of action entertainer!

Meanwhile, few sources express that 'Kochadaiyaan' is a part of 'Rana'! The film will be helmed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and has music by AR Rahman. It boasts off an ensemble of star cast including Deepika Padukone, Sarathkumar, Aadhi, Shobana, Rukmini, Jackie Shroff, Nassar and several others.

Ajith’s Billa2 nearing completion

Ajith starrer Billa 2 in the direction of Chakri Tholeti is soon wrapping up the shooting part. The entire shoot of Billa 2 has been completed except for a song and the post-production works will commence shortly.

Since major part of the film schedules has taken place outside the state, the unit has escaped from the Tamil film industry strike, which helped them in finishing off the movie as per the planned schedules.

Billa 2 has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by RD Rajasekhar. Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah are playing the leading ladies while Prabhu, Rahman, Sriman and Vidyut Jamwal will be seen in prominent roles.

Billa 2, which has huge expectations surrounding the movie will hit the screens by the end of April.

Vijay producing Vikram's film on ‘Ghilli Films’

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is all set to produce the films besides acting and titled his production house as Ghilli Films.

Remake of Vijayakanth starrer Sattam Oru Iruttarai directed by S A Chandrasekaran, father of Vijay is the first movie being produced under his Ghilli Films banner. Vikram Prabhu, son of veteran actor Prabhu and grandson of Sivaji Ganesan will be starring this action remake venture.

Vikram Prabhu is busy with his forthcoming film Kumki being directed by Prabhu Solomon. Vijay was quite interested in donning the lead role, but roped in Vikram as he is busy with his Thuppakki pairing opposite with Kajal Agarwal being directed by AR.Murugadoss.

Will there be a Muni 3?

Following the success of Muni 2, Raghava Lawrence is on a roll. There have been talks of a Bollywood remake and a sequel to the film in Tamil as well. The choreographer/actor/director has confirmed that he will be making Muni 3 and will make an official announcement regarding the project soon.

Currently, Lawrence is tied up with his Telugu film, Rebel with Prabhas. The shooting is almost done and only a few fight sequences have to be completed along with patch work. Once Rebel is wrapped up Lawrence will be charging ahead with Muni 3.

Ajith’s Billa 2 audio in mid-March

Ajith, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah starring Billa 2, is all set for audio launch in the 2nd week of March, however date is not yet confirmed.

The prequel is being directed by Chakri Toleti, while Vishnuvardhan directed Billa. Yuvan Shankar Raja is gearing up for the audio release of Billa 2 in the second week of March, in a sizzling event in Chennai. The album will have a title song with ‘Don Don Don’ lyrics.

Chakri Toleti has recently wrapped up the shooting and it is in post-production works. Billa 2 is getting ready to see the day light on May 1st, on Thala’s birthday. Technical crew has RD Rajasekhar taking care of camera while Suresh Urs is editing the film Selvakumar will handle the art.

Singam 2 in foreign locales

Surya and Hari are joining hands once again after Aaru, Vel and Singam in Singam Part 2.

The film Singam had Surya, Anushka and Vivek in the cast turned out to be a super hit. Seeing the success of this film, it was remade in Hindi which had Ajay Devgan in the lead role. Hari after seeing the good reception of Singam is readying story for Part 2 of Singam.

Only the song sequences in Hari films will be shot in foreign locales but for the first time the song sequences and the climax sequences are to be shot in South Africa and Nigeria. It is understood that Singam 2 will take one more step forward in his career.

3 to hit the screens on 30th March

The most expected film of the year is the film 3 which has Dhanush and Shruthi Haasan in the lead roles. This film which has been directed by Aishwarya Dhanush will be hitting the screens on 30th March. Dhanush’s father Kasthoori Raja has produced this film. He while speaking about this film to the media said, "This film 3 has the back ground score of the Oscar Award winning Resul Pookutty. This is an added strength to 3.

 This film will also be a great strength to him also. When we approached him initially for this film, he refused.

Then seeing the reception that 3 got, he wanted to become the part of this film. The Tamil audience will very much like this film. Tamil cinema has got a talented director Aishwarya now. She has directed the emotional sequences like a professional. "

The song Why This Kolaveri Di has created lots of expectations for 3 among the Tamil speaking people throughout the world.

Karthik crooned for Rajini’s Kochadaiyaan

The reputed playback singer Karthik, who has recently debuted as composer with Aaravaan has rendered a song in Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan.

Oscar winner A.R.Rahman is scoring the music for Kochadaiyaan and lyrics are penned by Vairamuthu and Vaali. 

Deepika Padukone will be pairing opposite Rajinikanth in Kochadaiyaan.

 The film also casts veteran actress Shobana, Sarath Kumar, Rukmini, Nasser, Jackie Shroff and Aadhi in other important roles. 

Sunil Lulla will be producing film under Eros Entertainment that has script written by K.S.Ravikumar and cinematography by Rajiv Menon in the technical crew.

SHANKAR TALKS ABOUT HIS NEXT!

Shankar has denied all reports that he is to direct a Telugu film with Prabhas in the lead and another Tamil film with Mohanlal as the hero.

 There were also reports that Aascar Ravichandran will be producing this film.

 Shankar has said that he has not yet signed up any star for his next. 

The ace director pointed out that he still working on the script and has not fixed any, as the reports state.

Shankar’s last release Nanban was a smash hit and the director has thanked the media for making the film a grand success.

Harris opts Vijay to croon a song for Thuppakki

Till now Kollywood audiences have seen action, family and entertaining performances of Vijay, now we can also hear song crooned by him. The ace music director Harris Jayraj has roped in Ilayathalapathy Vijay to sing a song in their upcoming flick Thuppakki.

Vijay and Kajal Agarwal starring Thuppakki directed by Murugadoss is shooting in fast pace in Mumbai, Harris Jayraj is composing music for this film. The Nanban composer says, “Once after I scored the tunes for this party song, felt Vijay’s vocals would suit the track best and told him about it and he was very excited about this.”

Kalaipuli S Thanu is producing this action entertainer that will be distributed by Gemini Film Circuit. Thuppakki has cinematography by Santosh Sivan, dialogues being penned by Jayamohan and editing is by A.Sreekar Prasad.

THUPPAKI SONG RECORDED

Sources say that AR Murugadoss may recommence the shooting of Thuppaki in Mumbai. However, it is not clear if the FEFSI worker there would extend support for a Tamil film because the strike is still on. Sources also report, the Ajith’s Billa 2 could not proceed in Mumbai, as the FEFSI workers refused to cooperate.

Will Vijay be lucky? Can AR Murugadoss pull it off? Only time will tell. Until then, let’s wait for more news on this.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Harris Jayaraj has recorded a song rendered by Krish.

Karthi after Saguni is donning the lead role in the film Alex Pandian directed by Sooraj. The crew members say that Karthi will be clashing with two villains in this film.

After Paiyaa, Karthi will be sharing the screen with Bollywood actor Milind Soman. Suman and Milind Soman are donning the villain roles in this film.

Sooraj while speaking about this said, "We have given importance to both of them in the screenplay. We wanted to cast a villain like the late Raghuvaran in this film.
Milind Soman fitted this role. Suman and Milind will clash with Karthi in the action sequences."
